Along the Garden Path Exhibition

The opening preview of our latest exhibition, Along the Garden Path, was held on Friday 8th November, attracting over 100 guests! Below are some photos taken during the evening. Do try to call in to the Marlborough Art Society at 204 High Street, Blenheim sometime over the next 2 weeks. The gallery will be open daily between 10.30am and 4.30pm from now through to 3.30pm on Sunday 24th November.

We are showcasing 113 pieces of art from 70 different artists - all of whom have distinctive styles. Our guest artist is Clarry Neame and he has entered 2 pieces.

As you may be aware this exhibition is run annually to coincide with Garden Marlborough, New Zealand's premier garden event so, as you can imagine, our galleries are a riot of colour for the next 2 weeks!

The artworks are for sale but you may have to get in quick as some have sold already!

If you wish to know more about any of the artworks, artists or our gallery don't hesitate to email us at info@marlboroughartsociety.co.nz

What a fabulous and successful exhibition the Marlborough Community Potters put on for us all! Below are a few photos taken during the exhibition.

Paint & Sip Evening with Anastasiia

Here are some amazing photos from the recent Paint & Sip evening hosted by the talented and lovely Anastasiia.

Watercolour Kowhai Class with Vasu Singh

Tuesday 10th September 2024 saw our studio host another fabulous watercolour workshop run by the lovely Vasu Singh. Participants were guided through the delicate process of capturing the beauty of the Kowhai tree in full bloom. Vasu's expertise and gentle teaching style helped attendees explore various techniques.

The workshop attracted both beginners and experienced artists, creating an inspiring atmosphere where creativity flourished. Everyone left with not only a completed piece of art but also newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the nuances of watercolour painting.

As always, our studio continues to be a space for learning, sharing, and connecting through the joy of art. We look forward to more enriching workshops in the future.

Welcoming Communities Expo

On Tuesday 10th September 2024 we took part in the inaugural Welcoming Communities Expo held at the Event Centre. Lots of networking with other organisations and meeting people new to Marlborough. Lovely vibe and live performances.

Oil Painting with Mieke Davies

Fundraising Dinner & Auction at Bamboo Garden Restaurant

On 2nd July we held our ever-popular fundraising dinner and auction, attended by around 80 people and supported by a good number of generous local businesses and artists.

Hawaiki Hou Exhibition

Recently we left the gallery in the capable hands of the guys from Hawaiki Kura, Kiley, Donna and Tineka while they held a fantastic pop-up photography exhibition. During the 5 days they had a constant stream of visitors, some days queuing outside waiting for them to open up! They also booked in visits from local schools for educational sessions.

Screen Printing with Val Griffith-Jones

A lovely group of people gathered in our studio recently to take part in a weekend of screen printing with Val Griffith-Jones during which she introduced the possibilities of screen printing, using simple and immediate stencil making and over printing colours.
